Faith in the In-between
Sometimes obedience looks like stepping away.
For a long time, my morning lives were a home base. They were a space where we connected, shared word, and built community. But recently, I made the conscious, prayer-filled decision to step back from those daily morning lives. God has been stirring a clear direction in my heart; one that requires my full energy, focus, and intentionality to build: stepping deeper into my businesses and expanding the footprint of Ruthless Faith Ministries and everything connected to this vision.
On paper, the decision made total sense. In my spirit, I knew it was time.
So why does the space between deciding and doing feel so uncomfortable?
If I’m being completely honest and raw with you, this transition hasn't come without a struggle. It’s hard to stand firm on a conviction when the daily momentum changes. It’s challenging to walk forward in faith when you don't know exactly how things are going to pan out, what the timeline looks like, or what the end result will be.
When you leave behind what was comfortable, you're left standing in the "in-between."
In this season, I’m learning a vital truth: Faith isn't tested when the path is fully illuminated; it’s tested in the fog.
There will be days when you feel the energy and excitement of the vision. And then there will be days where you don't feel anything; days where God feels quiet, the roadmap looks blank, and doubt tries to whisper, "Did you make the right call?"
But our faith cannot be tied to our feelings.
God doesn't need us to see the full staircase to take the next step. He already sees the beginning from the end. He knows every detail of what lies ahead, for every door that needs to open, and for every heart that will be reached. He was already in tomorrow before I even arrived at today.
If you are currently navigating a pivot of your own...whether in your career, your business, your ministry, or your personal life, I want to encourage you with this:
- Obedience requires space: You can't build the new thing God is asking of you if your hands are completely full holding onto the last season.
- Uncertainty is not absence: Just because you can't see how it's going to work out doesn't mean God isn't actively working it out.
- Trust is a daily choice: Trusting Him when you feel inspired is easy. Trusting Him in the quiet, steady work of building requires ruthless faith.
I don't have all the answers for what the coming months look like, and that’s okay. I’m choosing to stand firm on the conviction He gave me, anchor my heart in His promises, and keep moving forward one faithful step at a time.
